Venue and Lodging Information


Venue

All instructional classes will be held at the Salt Lake Plaza Hotel at Temple Square. Conveniently located in the heart of downtown, the Plaza is literally just steps away from Temple Square and other historical sites, shopping, dining, and many arts venues. It is also the closest hotel to the Family History Library.  The Plaza is located at 122 West South Temple, directly in front of the Temple Square TRAX (light rail) stop, accessible from both the green airport and blue downtown lines.

Salt Lake Plaza Hotel

The Plaza, located at 122 W. South Temple, offers spacious rooms with microwaves, refrigerators, complimentary wireless internet access, and in-room safes. Their property amenities include a library, public computers, an exercise room, an outdoor pool, and an indoor jacuzzi. Their on-site restaurant is JB’s, which offers a full menu as well as a breakfast, lunch, and dinner soup and salad bar.

Conference Rates:   A VERY LIMITED block of rooms has been set aside for our program from October 14th through October 20th, 2018. Parking is $8 per day for staying guests and $12 for non staying guests.

Standard Single Queen room: $139

Deadline:  Reservations may be made at the group rate until the block is full or until the deadline of September 14, 2018, whichever occurs first. After that date, reservations will be made on a space available basis, prices will vary. Call Rich Williams (info below) to see if he can assist you.

How to Make Reservations:

By Phone:  Group rates are only available by phone. Please call 800-366-3684 or 801-521-0130 to make your reservation. Tell them you need to book a room in the “International British Institute” block in order to help them find the group rate in their system.

Holiday Inn Express


The Holiday Inn Express is located at 206 S. West Temple. It is two blocks directly south of The Plaza and the Family History Library. It offers spacious rooms with microwaves, mini-refrigerators, complimentary wireless internet access, and coffee makers. Their property amenities include 24 hour indoor pool and hot tub, sauna, fitness center, guest laundry, business center and free breakfast.

Conference Rates:   A block of rooms has been set aside for our program from October 14th through October 20th, 2018. A limited amount of rooms may be extended on either end of the block. Parking will be $13 per day.

King room: $139             Double Queen room: $139

**The Holiday Inn Express requires a first and last night's deposit plus 12.6% tax due 30 days prior to the conference. This is a non-refundable deposit.**

Deadline:  Reservations may be made at the group rate until the block is full or until the deadline of September 12, 2018, whichever occurs first. After that date, reservations will be made on a space available basis, prices will vary. First and last night's deposit will be due 30 days prior to arrival with tax at 12.6%. This deposit is non-refundable.

How to Make Reservations:

Other Hotels in the Vicinity:  There are several hotels within an easy walking distance as well as some accessible via light rail. Or, if you are driving, you may purchase a parking pass at the Plaza for the conference rate of $5/day.

    Rooms include refrigerators, microwaves, and wireless internet. The rate includes a full made-to-order breakfast, complimentary airport shuttle, and transportation to the FHL, leaving you just a 1/2 block walk to the Plaza.
  • The Crystal Inn Hotel & Suites, 230 West 500 South; reservations 800-662-2525 or 801-328-4466
    Rooms include a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The rate includes a hot buffet breakfast, wireless, complimentary airport shuttle, and free parking. Located one mile from the Plaza Hotel, they will provide a complimentary shuttle to the FHL, leaving you just a 1/2 block walk to the Plaza.
  • Marriott Downtown City Creek - 75 S. West Temple; reservations online or 801-961-8700
    Note:  there are several other Marriott brands in downtown SLC; this one is the closest to the Plaza.
